How Consistency and Being Prepared Landed Me a Major Placement with Moneyman

Back in 2010, I was just another hungry producer, grinding and trying to break through. No clout. No major placements. No big connections. But one thing I knew for sure—I had to put myself out there.

I was constantly sending my beats to artists, networking with anyone I could, and always looking for the next opportunity. That’s how I met Ghazi, the founder of Empire Distribution and Empire Publishing. We stayed in touch over the years, and in 2015, I signed a publishing deal with Empire.

Fast forward to 2022, I found myself at an Afrobeats camp at Empire Studio in San Francisco. I didn’t know what to expect, but I showed up prepared. Ghazi was there, and in a twist I hadn’t anticipated, he asked me to play some of my beats—specifically Trap beats, which wasn’t even why I was at the camp.

I played around 20 beats, and Ghazi loved them all. He asked for the files, and a few months later, he hit me up to let me know that Moneyman had recorded to one of my tracks. That track became "Demons In The Dark" featuring Key Glock, which just dropped today (check out my post on Instagram HERE).
